December 1, 2011 – OakWood Renovation Experts has won the Ottawa Business Achievement Awards (OBAA) Mid-Market Business of the Year in the Bronze Category. The much coveted award was given by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and Ottawa Business Journal at the Ottawa Convention Center during the prestigious OBAA Gala on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Launched in 1993, the OBBA celebrates and recognizes leading ethical businesses that contribute to Ottawa’s success through a demonstration of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Each year, hundreds of businesses are nominated for their contributions to Ottawa’s success. Award winners are acknowledged for their innovative drive, creativity and their passion for doing business in Ottawa.
“OakWood is honoured to be the recipient of the Mid-Market Business of the Year in the bronze category,” says John Liptak, President and CEO of OakWood. “These awards are unique to Ottawa and we are privileged to be seen as contributing to the success of such a great City.” In November, 2011 OakWood was also awarded the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Trust in the Home Improvement category. Torch Awards recognize businesses that go “Above and Beyond” in promoting trust. OakWood is the only Ottawa Renovator to win the OBBA and Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Trust in the same year.
